Triathlon Coaching
OpIron Multisport

We believe that triathlon as a sport has so much potential to enrich our lives; to offer adventure, fitness and fun.  All too often, if you open a triathlon related magazine these days you get the feeling that unless you have the latest GPS device or Aerodynamic wheel sets that you really should not bother.  These items all cost more than most novices are willing to spend, and are totally unnecessary.

It’s true that you will need some equipment such as a bike, goggles, running shoes etc.  But that’s it!  Nutrition doesn’t have to be as complicated as some make it out to be. But how can a beginner know this?  How can you differentiate what is necessary from what is marketing?

That’s what OpIron is here for.  We help guide you through this maze of information we have coaches who have already made their way through this maze a number of years ago and are now here to help you.

The Coaches:

Javier Gomez - Triathlon Coach, USAT Level 1 Certified  USAT Certified

Javier has been a Triathlete for a number of years, having raced dozens of triathlons,  from Sprints to Half ironmans.  For the past 2 years he has been a coach and has lead the beginners triathlon program for Race with Purpose (www.racewithpurpose.org). Javier also coaches individual clients with a variety of experience levels.

Christine Lynch - Nutrition Coach,  HHC

Also commonly known on the interweb as HolisticGuru, Christine is the founder of Live and Eat Better Holistic Health (www.liveandeatbetter.com). She is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is affiliated with Columbia University.  She also holds a BA in Psychology from New School University.  Her specialties are in weightloss, sports nutrition and exercise and she is a certified yoga instructor.

Christine has been an endurance athlete for a number of years, having completed marathons and, more recently, various triathlon distances. Her goal is to become an Ironman in 2010 at IMLP.
