Coaching Philosophy

Have a purpose

It would be great if we could do what we love 100% of the time.  What a life that would be!  Unfortunatly, most of us have to fit in those things we love into little pockets of time that are available around 25 other things in our lives.

Its because of this that our philosophy in training is simple: Take the time that you do have for training and make the most of it.  The only way to do that is to have a purpose and goal for each and every single training hour.  Whether that be to build up endurance, lose weight, or relax ( yes! That is part of training too!)  This way you can maximize your training efforts.  Our goal is to help you achieve this by making sure your plan target each small step you have to take to achieve your ultimate goal.

Focus on training, not on gear

Anytime you open a tri related magazine, it seems that a person should not even consider the sport unless they have the latest teflon skin suit, and is not doing windtunnel testing at least on a quarterly basis.  This cannot be further from the truth.  As Lance Armstong s book title says “Its not just the Bike”.  The fact is people probably spend too much money and time worrying about what gear they have, when they should be worrying about their training.

Why all the Chemicals?

Our approach to nutrition is a natural one.  We fel that current popular sports nutrition supplements offer far mor than most athletes bargained for.  As such we feel that the less is more approach works best.  If you need electrolytes, then get electrolytes and nothing else like sugars.  There are so many options to these that most athletes are not aware of.For example drink coconut water instead od sports drinks, it offers electrolyts as well without the added sugars.
